Attention all “Year of your Life” Teams & Local Churches with a heart for Missions!!

ASM is also offering a special one year Missions and Ministry Development Programme. For any month or week of this programme, you may join all the other missionary candidates at ASM in order to be equipped and enthused with a passion for the Lord and for missions! During this time at ASM your team will be hosted in basic but comfortable accommodation and ASM will provide them with 3 meals a day. Your team will participate in seminars and chapel services, small group discussions and workshops and be involved in practical outreach and ministry in the local communities.

These practical outreaches may include ministry to hospice patients, children’s ministry, Home based care to HIV/AIDS patients, Bible studies in the rural communities using New Tribes mission material, Ministry at a Drug Rehabilitation Center, Ministry to the homeless at the Nelspruit community Forum, and Involvement in Local rural churches. Such occasional participation in the ASM Missions and Ministry Development Programme will be at a cost of about R 1200 per person per week, depending on your activities and involvement. This price includes the costs for accommodation, meals, use of the library, internet access, and the facilitation fee.

ASM is situated close to White River, in the very scenic Eastern Transvaal, 20 km from the Kruger National Park Numbi gate. The beautiful Lowveld attractions such as God’s Window, Burke’s Luck Potholes, several grand Lowveld waterfalls, Blyde River Canyon, and the historic town of Pilgrims Rest, are also close by and easily reachable from ASM.

Are you looking for cheap guest accommodation? ASM offers you basic but comfortable rooms at the minimal costs of R 85 per person per night for South Africans and R 140 per person per night for foreigners. ASM may also provide meals for an added cost which can be arranged with Riekie De Klerk – Hospitality Manager.

Africa School of Missions (ASM) is a Missions and Theological Training College situated in a rural area near White River, in Mpumalanga Province of South Africa that was established in 1984. In 1988 a department within ASM known as the School of Health was established.

The School of Health at ASM is responsible for the following:

- A fully functioning Primary Health Care Clinic
- A weekly mobile clinic service to a remote farming area
- A small nursing school approved by the SA Nursing Council

A medical practitioner with experience in family medicine is required to work in the clinic and assist with the on the job training of the registered nurses who also work in the clinic. Experience in working and living in a cross-cultural environment would be an advantage.

Additionally you will be required to personally support the Christian ethos, values and objectives of the organization. The position is on a voluntary (raise-your-own-support) basis, however ASM will provide you with a home on the campus.
